Comic Con 2013

     About 3 months ago I heard about Comic Con that was coming to Salt Lake and a few weeks after that I heard that William Shatner was going to be there.  Once I heard he was going to be there I jumped on the website immediately and bought VIP tickets for me and Trent.  I didn't know what to expect going into it because Trent nor I have ever been to any Comic Con before so we were just jumping in head first.  Well this last weekend me and Trent finally got to go.  I was so excited because I was going with two goals in mind.  1. Get a photo op with William Shatner and 2. Get his autograph.  For all I cared the rest of Comic Con could have been super lame as long as I got to do those two things.  Doing my research I found out he was only going to be there Saturday so Thursday and Friday were just going to be fun days where we got to do what we wanted and check the place out.  

     The first day I went Trent wasn't able to go with me so I took my friend Erin and we walked around the booths a lot and checked out where everything was. All the booths were selling everything nerdy you could think of.  Harry potter clothes, anything Doctor Who you could think of, Star Wars collectibles, Lord of the rings collectibles, comic books, paintings, jewelry, anything steam punk, Star Trek collectibles, etc... The list could go on and on. So the first day I saw some really awesome Star Trek stuff.  I ended up buying a classic communicator that was sold back in 1996 and I bought a 1991 Star Trek Fan Club folder from Paramount pictures that had some pictures of the original series crew and the next generation crew and it had biographies that were typed up for important actors and Gene Rodenberry along with some synopsis of movies.  So it was super awesome!

     The next thing I did was go up and meet John De Lancie who played Q on the Star Trek series.  He was my absolute favorite guest star out of all the Star Trek's so it was so amazing meeting him! I got a picture and autograph and he talked to me for a bit and asked where I worked.  It was pretty fun telling him all about the Space center and seeing his reaction to it.  When I went on Friday Trent and I basically hit up a bunch of interesting panels and bought a few more things.  

     So Saturday rolled around and it was the big day! Everyone was there to meet William Shatner and Stan Lee.  So the first thing we did was get in line for William Shatner's photo op.  We were pretty close to the front so we got in quick.  They had to shuffle through so many people so it was a lot quicker of a moment than I thought it would be you basically go in and say, "hi" then take a picture and then they rush you out of the room.   It was slightly disappointing, but I still got a picture with him.  Next we rushed over to the autograph line and the same two sweet ladies we were standing behind at the Photo op place we were standing behind again. They were some of the coolest people I met at Comic Con! Next we were able to get his autograph.  Again, he didn't really say much or get to talk to anyone much because of how many people were there to get his autograph.  So it was a hi and bye moment again.  I still was super excited to see him in person and get his autograph and picture! 

    After all that craziness we went to  his panel and listened to him answer a few questions from the audience.  It was amazing to get second row seats at the panel and to hear him speak.  My favorite story he told was when he would play practical jokes on Leonard Nimoy when they were working together back in the 60's.  We were going to leave right after but then they told us that if we stayed we could keep our seats for the Stan Lee Panel.  So we thought might as well it's not very often you get to be on the second row of a panel listening to Stan Lee answer questions.  I am so glad we ended up staying also because that 92 year old man was so funny! He was answering all the kids questions very honestly.  My favorite question and answer was, 

Fan: "Who would win in a fight Hulk or Thor?"

Stan Lee: "Can I be honest with you? Whoever is writing the script. I am going to let everyone in on a little secret and it can't leave this room...These are fictional characters."

All in all I loved Comic Con!  I can't wait for next year!

School Work and Speed Runs

Well as I sit here at my desk wondering about life, space, the final frontier, and elementary science methods I decided to write a blog post since I said I would post more.  My very last year in school starts tomorrow and I am already doing homework.  Welcome to college for those not there yet.  I am actually trying to stay on top of my homework by doing some reading responses before school even starts.  Also this is the very first semester I actually have all my books before the semester starts so props to me XD  Vivi's new favorite spot in our whole house is right under my desk on my crochet blanket that I made a year ago.  It's so funny because once we get up and let her out of the bedroom she runs in there and sits down like "hey guys come in here and do stuff on these tall black things so I can sit under here and sleep."  She is a pretty funny dog.  Trent has been working on speed running The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.  There are some major glitches in that game and the world record for completing the game the quickest was in 19 minutes and 15 seconds.  Trent has been practicing for a few weeks now and just did it in 31 minutes and 2 seconds.  We are the most interesting people in the world I bet! haha j/k we know we are pretty lame! But check this out for the major Zelda glitches.  Well wish me luck on starting school tomorrow!

Remember That Day

So.. Remember that day that I used to blog? Ya I kinda do. I totally suck at blogging though. I want to get good at it now though because I always have so many things cross my mind where I say to myself, "I should totally write that down." And then poof I don't and it totally disappears. Fly's away like a little birdie.  Well I think I am actually going to try.. I say this all the time but THIS TIME I am going to succeed. (no one hold me to this please.) Well it's been a year since I have blogged and I just want to announce that in that year we have moved into an upgraded apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, got a puppy named Vivi, and I now work two jobs at the coolest places ever! So can't complain, life is pretty awesome. Oh wait it would be even more awesome if I didn't have to go back to school on Monday but it's my very last year of school and I miss all my school friends. So I will be trekking back to school on Monday and grudging through the piles of homework that will come along with it. To end this post I will post pictures of my puppy.

No she doesn't sleep on our bed with us but in the morning when Trent leaves she he will sometimes put her on the bed to cuddle with me until I get up and she decided that her favorite spot was on our pillows. She thinks she is the Queen.

I guess this was the most comfortable sleeping position that day.

March Madness!!

Don't let the title confuse you, this has nothing to do with basketball! It's about the crazy upcoming month of March that me and Trent get to deal with. yay..... well most of it is yay...  So this month we have so much going on from lot's and lot's of homework, to my spring break and Trent not getting one, the many trips to Ogden we have to make almost every weekend, and the many reasons why we have to go down to Ogden.

This last weekend we were able to make our way down to Ogden on Friday and spend the weekend up there with our families playing lots of games with everyone and getting no homework done.  During this week I have a historical book report due by Thursday and I started reading my book yesterday.  So tomorrow is going to be one crazy day of making a book report! Then this weekend we will be heading back down to Ogden on Friday after I go to my group interview to make it into the education program in the fall.  I will find out if i get into the program probably sometime either after that or this summer... not quite sure how it works... that night we will also have to make it to my friend, Courtney Burrows wedding reception! I'm so excited for her! Being married is fun!  And then on Saturday Sara's little baby Alli will be turning 1 and we will be celebrating with a party.

After that crazy fun weekend we will be back in Provo for the week days and I will be going crazy just doing homework all through spring break while Trent goes to school and does the work thing like always.  Also on the 15th of March the Monster Guru kickstarter that Gimo Games has been pushing will end.  Hope we get all the money we need.  Then that weekend will be the first throughout March that we will be staying in Provo.

The next week is another full week of tons of homework due and then we will be making our way down to Ogden for the midnight premier of the HUNGER GAMES on the 23rd! Can't freakin wait!!! Super excited for that.. it's crazy to think that its already here.  So we will be in Ogden from Thursday that weekend all the way until Sunday and we will be bringing our little hamster Bean with us since its 4 days we will be away.

Then the last week of March will be fun as on that Friday we will be going to a Jazz game with the Burke family and watching General conference.. It will be a crazy month but we are so excited for a lot of things!!! I just haven't blogged this in a while and thought hey this will be a fun month for us, I should tell the world! :) haha j/k but seriously.... well can't wait for the HUNGER GAMES

One whole summer = no time to blog!

        So I have gone all summer without posting one thing on my blog, well actually I think I might have posted one thing. Well not something to really celebrate about though.  Well lets see, Trent and I have been married for about 3 1/2 months now.  Which is crazy because I seriously feel like I have been married to him my whole life.  He is my best friend! I love him so much!
       The one sad thing I learned this summer was how far away I am from my family.  Being away from them and not seeing them like every day has really been the toughest thing for me this summer.  I just know for sure that when we are done with school we are going to move a lot closer to them.  In other words school has started and me and Trent have started our super busy lives of school and work!  Good thing we go to bed with each other at night, because if we didn't we probably would never see each other.
        UVU has been a big adjustment.  I was so used to Weber State where you like had a few more breaks and not a lot of homework ever, mostly a lot of testing.  Well at UVU all my classes consist of a hand written assignments due every day of class and big papers due every two weeks, plus some tests thrown in the mix! And I also don't care what anyone says about this but I swear that UVU is a much larger campus then Weber State! I am walking so much farther to get to my classes now!
        Now that I have somewhat blogged again I am going to blog more I promise! And I promise lots of pictures next time I get on.  Plus I still have to go through my wedding pictures and post them somewhere for people to see.  Ya that is on the list for sure.  Next time though!

The Server is Down!!!

So Long time no Blog... Well while I have still been on the job hunt my days have been full of thoughts like, "what in the heck am I going to do today?"  So every day is different.  Lately I was introduced to this online game called League of Legends (LOL) by my brother and now I always want to play it!  So right now I would be playing that instead of doing this but unfortunately the server is down or really busy.  :( so sad.. But today has been quite eventful! I got ready for the day, read this awesome twitter post and watched the awesome Bioshock Inifinite Demo trailer. My Jaw was hanging from my face literally!  It looks insane!  The combat looks spectacular and the story line looks very intriguing.  It's the kind of game to get your heart racing that's for sure!  If you're at all interested or have ever heard of Bioshock then you can check it out.  http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/bioshock-infinite-footage/
 Also I was going to make a trip to the DMV and I couldn't find it, then when I stopped to ask for help they informed me that the DMV is closed on Fridays.  So that's one  thing I can't check off.  Dang it! Also I learned how to Crochet a Flower today! they are so cute and I'm so excited to keep learning new things like that. :)
 Well Hopefully the server will come back on soon because I want to play some LOL!

Seven Peaks

Yesterday was so great! So Trent's work got invited to go to Seven Peaks yesterday by another Gameing Company and they rented the whole place out for like 3 hours.  So we went yesterday night and had such a great time!  That was probably like the first and only time we wouldn't have to wait in any lines! We are probably not going to go back when you do have to wait in lines.  We went on the Boomerang Slide like 7 times in a row, and floated down the Lazy river without anyone else in it.  Also we got to meet some awesome new people  and spend some fun time together.  Hopefully we can do the same thing next year!
