One whole summer = no time to blog!

        So I have gone all summer without posting one thing on my blog, well actually I think I might have posted one thing. Well not something to really celebrate about though.  Well lets see, Trent and I have been married for about 3 1/2 months now.  Which is crazy because I seriously feel like I have been married to him my whole life.  He is my best friend! I love him so much!
       The one sad thing I learned this summer was how far away I am from my family.  Being away from them and not seeing them like every day has really been the toughest thing for me this summer.  I just know for sure that when we are done with school we are going to move a lot closer to them.  In other words school has started and me and Trent have started our super busy lives of school and work!  Good thing we go to bed with each other at night, because if we didn't we probably would never see each other.
        UVU has been a big adjustment.  I was so used to Weber State where you like had a few more breaks and not a lot of homework ever, mostly a lot of testing.  Well at UVU all my classes consist of a hand written assignments due every day of class and big papers due every two weeks, plus some tests thrown in the mix! And I also don't care what anyone says about this but I swear that UVU is a much larger campus then Weber State! I am walking so much farther to get to my classes now!
        Now that I have somewhat blogged again I am going to blog more I promise! And I promise lots of pictures next time I get on.  Plus I still have to go through my wedding pictures and post them somewhere for people to see.  Ya that is on the list for sure.  Next time though!

The Server is Down!!!

So Long time no Blog... Well while I have still been on the job hunt my days have been full of thoughts like, "what in the heck am I going to do today?"  So every day is different.  Lately I was introduced to this online game called League of Legends (LOL) by my brother and now I always want to play it!  So right now I would be playing that instead of doing this but unfortunately the server is down or really busy.  :( so sad.. But today has been quite eventful! I got ready for the day, read this awesome twitter post and watched the awesome Bioshock Inifinite Demo trailer. My Jaw was hanging from my face literally!  It looks insane!  The combat looks spectacular and the story line looks very intriguing.  It's the kind of game to get your heart racing that's for sure!  If you're at all interested or have ever heard of Bioshock then you can check it out.  http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/08/bioshock-infinite-footage/
 Also I was going to make a trip to the DMV and I couldn't find it, then when I stopped to ask for help they informed me that the DMV is closed on Fridays.  So that's one  thing I can't check off.  Dang it! Also I learned how to Crochet a Flower today! they are so cute and I'm so excited to keep learning new things like that. :)

Seven Peaks

Yesterday was so great! So Trent's work got invited to go to Seven Peaks yesterday by another Gameing Company and they rented the whole place out for like 3 hours.  So we went yesterday night and had such a great time!  That was probably like the first and only time we wouldn't have to wait in any lines! We are probably not going to go back when you do have to wait in lines.  We went on the Boomerang Slide like 7 times in a row, and floated down the Lazy river without anyone else in it.  Also we got to meet some awesome new people  and spend some fun time together.  Hopefully we can do the same thing next year! Thanks Chair for inviting us to Seven Peaks!

It's been a while....

Well it's official I'm the worst blogger ever! Haha I guess I just got really busy planning the wedding and time just got away from me.  Well we are finally in our new apartment in Orem, we have been married for two and a half weeks and have been loving every bit of it.  I must admit that it was a little different for both of us to not have to say goodbye at night and drive home, but thats the best part.  My favorite part is going to bed and when I get cold (which I always do when I go to bed at night) I can cuddle up to Trent for a few minutes get warm and then go to sleep. :)  Well the wedding was so great, seriously the best day of my life, and now that I think of it, it seems to be all a blur.  I had planned and planned for everything to be perfect for 3 months and then on the one day it all comes together, the Bride and Groom don't really even get to enjoy half the stuff they planned. Haha but thats the fun of it, and I was very excited to here that all our guests enjoyed the wedding.  Well since I never posted any Bridals (once again because i'm a failure)  I will post some now.  Besides I don't have the wedding pictures quite yet either, but they are coming soon. 


 

So here are some of the Bridals that took place back in May but once I get the actually wedding photos then I will post them as well.
              So as far as being a wife,  it's been a fun adventure, I clean the house, and cook dinner (which I am learning to do) and of course being there for my husband when he comes home.  Also this week has been the crazy week of sickness! First my little sister Clara got sick then I got it, then Trent, then my Mom, and then Gavin and Adam.  Everyone in our families are just getting sick.
   We went to the fireworks at Weber High on Saturday night with friends and family and we got to see a lot of our old friends!  It was so great to see everyone! Father's day weekend was a rather sad one actually, thinking it was going to be a pretty good weekend me and Trent went to my cousins house to get hair cuts when I called my mom to see if they were home.  My mom answered and gave me some really sad news,  my 14 year old dog Lady had been put down on Saturday.  She wasn't doing very good and her body finally gave out on her.  So that was really sad and sudden.  But we tried to make the best of our fathers day weekend.  In loving Tribute to our dog Lady,  you were such a great dog and a loyal friend to us all.  You will always be with us.

The Perfect Shoes and Engagement Outfits

About a week ago we went shopping for our engagement outfits and my wedding shoes...And whatever else we could find.  It was a long and exhausting, but super fun (well at least for me) shopping day!  It was Trent's FIRST real experience shopping with a bunch of girls since he doesn't have any sisters in his family.  My mom, Clara, and I played Dress up with Trent in Pac Sun and found him a very handsome outfit to wear for the pictures. I found most of my outfit at Charlotte Russe (pretty much my favorite store) and The Perfect Shoes at Forever Young Shoes.  They are so Perfect and I can't wait to wear them.  Haha I have pretty much came to the conclusion that these shoes are my wedding shoes. They will probably be in my engagement pictures, my Bridal pictures, and my Wedding day pictures! they are that Perfect! So here are the Perfect shoes!

Apartment Shopping

I know its been a while and I am slacking on my blogging. But we all know whats coming soon!  The end of school! And I blame school for all of my slacking in other areas of my life.  Well there is a lot to catch up on. Things are coming along so great first a few weeks ago I went down for two different Thursdays and we did some Apartment shopping to find the perfect place to live for the first few years.

So the first place we went was okay.... well we just weren't feeling it.. it seemed really dumpy and just not right for us.  Then the second place we went to felt really nice but it just was a little small in the living room and the kitchen.. like super small and once again we were feeling like it was super small for the price we would be paying and pretty much you are just paying for location.  So then the third apartment which was more in Orem was pretty awesome.  When we walked inside of it we felt really good about it.  Like it wasn't too small and it had more things to offer (like its own washer and dryer hook ups, and we have a washer and dryer).  The living room could fit our love seat and our couch and the kitchen wasn't so shut off from the living room.. Well all in all it just felt right.  So we decided to wait and see.. The only problem was there were only two left in the place that we wanted.  So a week later I went back down and we still felt good about that third one we went and saw, but we went and saw one more and... nope... it didn't feel right.  So that weekend we called the place we liked and they had one more place left so we took it and we have now got the Apartment!   It will be in Orem about 10-15 minutes from BYU and UVU and will work out perfect! I can't wait to move into the apartment and start our life together!

Wedding Plans, and LOST

This weekend was great! and they go by way too fast.  But we now have got most of our planning done.  We have the reception center booked, the temple booked, catering booked, got my dress, we are meeting with the cake people next Saturday and they booked June 2nd for us, the flowers are booked, and this week we got the photographer booked.  So wow that wasn't really too bad booking everything.  Got it done in about two weeks.  Well Trent's cousin-in-law Tony Murray will be taking our pictures he is a really awesome guy, and Jenna (Trent's cousin who Tony is married to) is way fun she is great! I look forward to hanging out with them more.  So this weekend was a "LOST" weekend, I started watching Lost before school started last summer, but then i stopped for a while because school and my life just got crazy.  So I started watching again and Trent has been watching with me this whole weekend.  It is the craziest show ever! I can't predict anything that happens, and its super intense.  We also went to Grandma and Grandpa Burke's 50th Anniversary Luncheon.  That was very fun it is always to good to see the Burkes they are a lot of fun to be around.  And on Saturday night we spent the night up at my house with my parent's :) I love spending time with my parents and they always give me and Trent great advice on things and they are just fun.  Oh and one last thing i forgot to mention we went down and saw my cousin Sara this weekend to see the new baby Allison.  I wish we could have stayed longer and spent more time down there. The best part was seeing Trent hold the baby :) it made me so excited! he is going to be the best father! he is just perfect for me! and I know that he will be perfect for our children too.   So last night most of what we did consisted of watching Lost and watching more Lost.  It was such a fun weekend and  I can't wait for next weekend now.

Motion City Soundtrack

So I was just thinking about me and Trent's first date and I remembered the first music that we had in common which was something that was the first thing we had in common and thought it would be fun to share this.  So I remember being in the car driving to the DI and then later the craft store and listening to Motion City Soundtrack the whole time.  We both knew like majority of the lyrics to each song and it was so awesome! So when the song Capital H came on there was always this fast part of the song that I could never sing it's the part that goes, "the powers of an evil doctor rocket science monster, who's ability is to destroy the entire universe." and Trent being the amazing man he is, totally nailed that part perfectly.  It was so Hot! haha so here is the song, that totally made me dig Trent that much more. haha ;)

Wedding Dress Shopping!

So yesterday I got to go wedding dress shopping! :) What started out to be one appointment to just try on dresses and see what I liked turned into actually getting the dress! So My mom, My cousin Sara, my little sister, and my future mother-in-law Claudeen all came with me to go and look at dresses yesterday! We started out at, "The Gallery" in Roy. They had really beautiful dresses but they were all more pricey then I really wanted to spend, I really didn't want to spend a lot on the dress because I would rather get nicer things for our engagements and accessories that I can wear again in my life.  So after we were done there we went to "Romance Bridal" and there I swear I tried on about 8 dresses and then the top 3 I wanted to try on again! I had such a great time and I got the perfect dress for the price range I wanted! :) I just am so excited! Sorry i couldn't get any pictures though because the places I went didn't want any photos taken of the dresses! but I promise you will see the dress when I get my bridals done!

The Official Date!

Okay so this last Tuesday we were able to get our official date! Trent called the temple that morning because I had class and asked for June 2nd.  It was sorta funny because when I called him after he told me that they would be sending both of us a letter in the mail telling us everything we needed to know before the day, and I thought to myself. um....does he even really know my address? We know where each other lives but we have never really remembered the addresses.  So before I could even ask he told me that lucky enough my brother was on his instant message account so Trent was able to instant message him the address as he was on the phone.  So June 2nd is our official date! So everyone mark it in your calendars! :)

How we met and Our first date!

So I have been getting a lot of frequent questions about how me and Trent met so I am going to tell the story. :) Well it all started with Trent being friends with my older brother Jake since High school.  My brother threw Tucker Garrett his bachelor party last summer and I was there for the first little bit just on my lap top while all the boys were showing up.  I guess when Trent showed up he saw me and thought I was pretty cute.  So a few months later (I know this is really really cheesy and so typically dumb but this is how it happened) he added me on facebook and I thought why not? He is pretty cute and maybe I can get a date out of him.  So every time I got on I was sorta hoping that he would talk to me but he never really did.  So when I got my tonsils out in August I was on loratab one night and he was on so I wrote, "Aren't you the Trentity?"  That name was an inside joke that my family had about Trent because my brother would always talk like he was just so amazing! And now I can truly see why.  haha well we started to talk and found that we had a lot in common and made each other laugh.  So he was going to a concert that night and invited me to go. Unfortunately I was down and out for my tonsils, but he got my number so he could call me during my favorite song.  So after he did that we started texting and talking a bit here and there.  Then a few weeks later I was going down to provo to see Emily Johnson and spend a night with her, and Trent asked me on a date for that night.  So I dragged my friend Kirsten Nye along ( I just love her)  and we went down and did a double date.  During the date we went to the DI and picked up purple outfits because we were going to be Graping, (look up the youtube video "the grapeist) and then we ended up making a life sized cardboard Kirby cut out.  It was just a fun wonderful date! When I left that night I remember thinking how amazing that date was and I wasn't even sure why.  There wasn't anything super crazy awesome that happened, I just felt really comfortable and with him.  After that he started asking me on more and more dates and he comes down every weekend to see me and spend time with me.  And occasionally when I can I go down there and spend the weekend down there.    Here are some fun pictures of our first date together.

The Engagement

So it finally happened! The much anticipated (mostly by my impatience) engagement is finally official! So I am going to start blogging things about our engagement as it goes along.  This is my first time blogging so I don't really know what I am doing. haha  Well Yesterday February 26, 2011 I was down at Trent's in the morning, and as he was getting ready for the day I was sitting upstairs at the kitchen table just talking with his mom Claudeen (my future mother-in-law) yay!! She is such a sweet lady, I can't wait to be apart of the Burke family, and Trent to be apart of my family. :)  So as we were talking Trent came upstairs and was like, "We have to go pick up Nick (Trent's main man) from the temple at 1." I was like "Are you serious?  His family can't pick him up?"  I was planning on going up to the valley all day and just doing Homework! Trent was like, "No we can just  go up to your place you can get all pretty and then we can just go down and pick him up real quick."  So I rolling my eyes said, "alright fine." So we went up to my house and I got all ready and Trent kept saying, "okay you ready to go now?" and I was like, "we have like 10 more minutes. He won't be out, we have time."  So finally we left at about 12:30 and went down to the Ogden temple where it was super busy! Trent said, "Okay he isn't out yet, because he hasn't called me. So I am just going to park the car and we can go and walk around while we are waiting for him." So I was just like, "okay sounds fun let's do it." I totally wasn't even suspecting it though all the signs were there, but I thought he hadn't asked my parents yet so I thought in my mind there is no way it could happen, he is just getting my hopes up.  So as we started walking around to the front of the temple, he looked at me and said, "I can't wait to be with you forever." and "I can't wait to take you to the temple."  As we walked to the front there was this cute little platform that was in the middle of the fountains and right in front of the temple.  He walked me out there and we were looking up at the temple, then he looked down at me and said, "Brandee I love you so much." so I replied, "Trent I love you too. So much."  Then he said, "I know you wanted to get married at this temple, but I thought this would be just as good."  right then it triggered in my mind what was happening.  He got down on his knee and pulled out the ring and said, "Brandee will you marry me?" So me having that deep Stokes blood in me started to cry.  It was such an overwhelming moment! So I said "Of course." I can't wait to spend the rest of my life plus eternity with Trent! He is the man that I have always wanted! I love him so much and I can't wait to tackle all the adventures we will have together!
